Vitrified glass line

Vitrified glass line

A glass painting process using screens or rollers, whereby the paint fuses with the vitreous mass and the colour will not change. Vitrification is possible through tempering, a process by which the glass and paint bond together.

Vitrification can be uniform, by fully or partially colouring the glass using an automatic paint roller or by screen printing for decorative glass with motifs. This process allows glass to be customized with colour guide paint (RAL or Pantone), according to the client’s design.

Ceramic paint is used for vitrified glass because it is the only one that can withstand the high temperatures during tempering. This action causes the glass and paint to merge, resulting in coloured decorative glass that is highly durable and resistant to external stress, abrasions, thermal shocks and ultraviolet light.

The characteristics of coloured tempered glass make vitrified glass extremely versatile and applicable to any element: bus and coach windscreens, ships’ bridges and portholes, lifts, guard-rails, elevators, glass canopies, lamps, tabletops, office furniture, kitchen furniture, worktops, bathroom screens, façade cladding, elements of commercial facilities, etc.

Solutions with Ceptual® vitreous materials

One of the values of good architecture is the quest for minimum energy in the composition, construction and subsequent use of space.

At Pontevedresa Group we also adhere to this philosophy through solutions that embrace numerous functions in the smallest surface area, thanks to cross-cutting processes inherent to tempered, vitrified and laminated glass technologies. From the perspective of optimization, this approach helps strike a balance between features: natural lighting, visual permeability, sound insulation, durability and easy assembly; aesthetic features: surface plasticity, project adaptation for colour and texture, addition of layers or cultural content using images and texts; and visual plays using solutions for spaces with integrated lighting, linings, fixed and mobile partitions, doors, false ceilings and floorings.

Ceptual® solutions, elements that can be used in contact with water, fire, sunlight, foodstuffs, and heat. Functional elements for everyday settings that may be designed for short-, mid- or long-term use.

Ceptual® solutions with colour, designs and images in vitrified coloured glass for architecture

The interplay of glass and light is one reason for using vitrified glass on façades. A solution that responds to very specific needs for exceptional buildings and a mark of authenticity in architecture. Ceptual® Impresion solutions for compositions of ceramic RAL or PANTONE paint, which give shape to designs or images, also provide an ideal finish for curved glass façades, where expressivity and movement are inherent to this concept.

Ceptual® Horizons, new frameless glass balustrade systems with ad hoc vitrified glass define a new horizon of freedom, where structural robustness intensifies visual lightness and the vitrified glass features images, designs and shapes. Designed to withstand extreme loads, they absorb lateral forces of up to 1 and 3 kN for areas of high transit. Both versions comply with the most demanding construction and safety regulations, and are easily assembled with safety wedges and two installation options: top fix or face fix.

Ceptual® Griptech stairs of vitrified glass, an ad hoc design guaranteed for banisters and steps. Our technical department is constantly researching solutions of suitable systems and compositions and is involved at all stages of development, from initial idea to project execution. Lamidur® and TGP® technologies endorse the various safety, structural and non-slip components manufactured by Pontevedresa Group for protecting people and property.

One of the values of good architecture is the quest for minimum energy in the composition, construction and subsequent use of space. For example, Mies achieved these minimums with elaborate construction details, while Siza creates spaces throughvres that contribute most to the project with the lowest number of actions.

Ceptual’s solutions aim to follow this way of thinking, by incorporating the highest number of functions in the smallest surface area.

From the perspective of optimization, this approach allows for a compromise between features (natural lighting, visual permeability, sound insulation, durability and easy assembly) and aesthetics (surface plasticity, project adaptation for colour and texture, addition of layers or cultural content with images and texts, and visual plays), using solutions for spaces with integrated lighting, linings, fixed and mobile partitions, doors, false ceilings and floorings.
